The Indore Municipal Corporation (IMC) is planning to construct eight multi-storied parking areas and four footbridges.

With this purpose, a three-member team, comprising IMC commissioner Kumar Purushottam, corporator Lalit Porwal and an IMC official, had visited Toronto and Vancouver to study the feasibility of the projects.

The commissioner said "The IMC has decided to follow the arrangements practised by those cities. Though we don't have big plots where such arrangements could be made we are thinking of making the display of sanctioned map before every building, which is more than three stories high, compulsory."

Appreciating the parking at multi-storied buildings in the two cities, the commissioner said such parking spaces would also be developed at eight multi-storied buildings in Indore.

Parking facility will be developed at Harsiddhi near Premsukh Talkies on Jawahar Marg, Jinsi in front of Indore Press Club, Dhakkanwala Kuan and near the zoo on AB Road.

A detailed project report will be prepared soon, he said. Foot-bridges with elevators also will be constructed at four places in the city.
