A five member delegation of the Odisha government led by Chief Secretary BK Patnaik has embarked on a visit Singapore to lure investors by showcasing the investment opportunities in the state. They will stay in the island nation upto November 28.
Patnaik is accompanied by Pradeep Kumar Jena, Chairman cum Managing Director of Odisha Industrial Infrastructure Development Corporation (Idco), Madhusudan Padhi, state IT secretary, Ashok Kumar Tripathy, Tourism Secretary and B N Palai, general manager, Industrial Promotion and Investment Corporation Ltd (Ipicol).
The top officials of the state government will participate at the two day symposium organized by Invest Bhubaneswar, a forum to connect with businesses and investors, slated to be held there on November 26 and 27.
“The Singapore visit is aimed at luring investors especially in the information technology (IT) sector, tourism sector and finding out of potential investors across the sectors to invest in the state”, said an official source.
Sources said, in addition to IT and tourism sector efforts will also be made to bring in potential investors in hospitality, infrastructure and alternative energy sectors.
About 20-25 entrepreneurs from the state are likely to participate in the event and enter in collaborative ventures, said Debasish Patnaik, Convenor, Invest Bhubaneswar.
Patnaik said, the delegations would interact with Singapore tourism board, International Enterprise (IE) Singapore, Infocomm Development Authority of Singapore etc for exploring partnership opportunities.
