Cure Without Cash From September

From September, group Mediclaim accounts with all the four state-owned insurance companies will enjoy cashless hospitalisation treatment.
For the first time in the country, a patient will not need to shell out a huge deposit on being admitted to a hospital or think about how he will pay the sizeable hospital bills till he receives payment from the insurance company.
The hassles of claim settlement will be history. The third-party administrator (TPA) of the individual state insurers will settle the bill, set up the necessary infrastructure and offer end-to-end customer service, following their respective tie-ups with hospitals.
The state-owned insurance companies on Saturday met their TPAs to hammer out the modalities of introducing cashless medical treatment. From September 1, TPAs will offer this facility to those covered by group policies, and subsequently on renewal, individual Mediclaim covers will also be included, said sources at The General Insurers
