The bank was awarded the accolade for its performance in year 2007-08, a press release issued here said.        

The factors on which Euromoney gave the award were risk management, focus on growth markets, achievements in performance, growth in client base and a commitment to client service and advisory as success factors.        

"We are excited with this win, and are excited by the future for private banking at Standard Chartered. The award recognises our strong performance over the past 12 months," Standard Chartered Private Bank's Global Head, Peter Flavel, said.        

The bank also plans to expand in the next two-three years, he said.        

"The Private Bank will be adding 150 relationship managers from internal and external sources and will continue its expansion in China and India," Flavel said.        

"The Private Bank is in a good place. We are not restricted to growing in just a few markets
