The jobless rate fell to 11.1 per cent in June from 13.3 per cent in May.
The Labor Department's Bureau of Labor Statistics, which compiles the employment report, said the unemployment rate would have been 12.1 per cent without the misclassification problem. Jobs also returned in the retail, education and health, manufacturing, construction, professional and business services sectors, transportation and warehousing, wholesale trade and financial activities sectors.
