A survey conducted by management consulting firm Hay Group, based on the leadership assessment diagnostic of 150 start-up leaders in India, has revealed that the top three common traits amongst the entrepreneurs were found to be achievement orientation, creativity and action orientation.

The least common traits prevalent amongst the start-up founders were consultative, flexible and methodical. As per the survey findings 70 per cent of the founders exhibited scores lesser than 5 (on a scale of 10) on 'team builder roles' and 60 per cent exhibited the same for 'networker roles'.

Further, most of the start-up founders have a natural preference for 'creator roles', with 80 per cent of the founders exhibiting high scores and the next common tendency amongst the founders was for 'Driver roles', with 52 per cent of them exhibiting scores.

Moreover, 80 per cent of the start-ups have the top two team profile preference common between the co-founders. The survey was conducted as part of Hay Group's NextBig100 initiative which aims to provide mentorship to startups in India.
