BSE smallcap index hit fresh 52-week high

Shares of small-sized companies continued their upward movement, with the S&P BSE Smallcap index hitting a fresh 52-week high on BSE on Sunday in intra-day Muhurat trade.

At 07:029pm, the S&P BSE Smallcap index was up 0.90% at 13,576, hit a fresh 52-week high of 13,595 on BSE in intra-day trade. On comparison, the S&P BSE Midcap index was up 0.47%, and the S&P BSE Sensex down marginally 0.14%.

Ujaas Energy, Astec Lifesciences, Zee Media Corporation, Radha Madhav Corporation, Subros, Minda Industries, Stampede Capital, Sarda Energy & Minerals, Capital Trade Links, Prozone Intu Properties, Caplin Point Laboratories and TIL Limited from the small-cap index were up more than 5% each on BSE. Total 38 stocks from the index were hitting their respective 52-week highs.

Astec Lifesciences has rallied 20% to Rs 652 on BSE in intra-day, extending its Friday’s 20% surge on BSE, after the company reported a more than five-fold jump in consolidated net profit at Rs 11.18 crore for the quarter ended September 30, 2016 (Q2FY17). The agrochemicals company had profit of Rs 2.02 crore in the same quarter year ago.
