Old season coffees (grown during 2004-05) have attracted good domestic enquiry at the Indian Coffee Trade Association (ICTA) auction held on Thursday.
 
Auctioner Carritt Moran and Co said, the auction sale witnessed selective domestic demand for coffee season 2005/06 washed Arabicas, with prices witnessing last week's levels.
 
At the auction, of the 256 tonne offered for sale (last week 217 tonne), 54 tonnes was sold (last week 63 tonne). Arabica comprised 205 tonne (last week 162 tonne) and Robusta 51 tonne (last week 55 tonne).
 
Following are the prices quoted for grades in Rs/50kg.
 
Arabica varieties: Arabica Parchment PB Rs 5,250 (quantity sold 3,950 kg), Arabica Parchment AA (season 2005-06 and Tamil Nadu stored) Rs 5,512 (2,000 kg), Arabica Parchment A Rs 5,365 (5,457 kg), Arabica Parchment B (season 2005-06 and Tamil Nadu stored) Rs 5,000 (710 kg), Arabica Parchment C Rs 4,900 (1,500 kg), Arabica Parchment BBB Rs 3,927 (2,567 kg) and Robusta Cherry AA Rs 2,975 (2,000 kg).
