The Kerala government is planning to export pepper procured by the Marketing Federation from farmers, said chief minister Oommen Chandy.

The government was exploring the possibility of getting the export incentive for pepper from the Centre for the benefit of the growers, Chandy said.

The Marketing Federation had been instructed not to sell in the domestic market the pepper it had mobilised under the government's procurement, Chandy said.

The government last year constituted a high-level committee headed by the chief minister to seek the export potential of agro products from the state, he added.
