Mentha oil prices fell by 0.47% to Rs 1,262.30 per kg in futures trade today as traders indulged in profit-booking, driven by subdued demand in the spot market.

At the Multi Commodity Exchange, mentha oil for delivery in March fell by Rs 6, or 0.47%, to Rs 1,262.30 per kg, with a business volume of 248 lots.

April mentha oil lost Rs 5.10, or 0.46%, to Rs 1,090.50 per kg, with an open interest of 111 lots.

The May contract shed Rs 3.90, or 0.40%, to Rs 957.20 a kg, with a volume of five lots.

Traders attributed the fall in prices to profit booking by speculators along with a weak trend at the spot markets on subdued demand.
