Select base metals firms up on stockist buying

Select base metals firmed up at the non-ferrous metal market here today due to good stockist buying and industrial offtake amidst bullish trend at the London Metal Exchange (LME).

Meanwhile, tin, aluminium and copper wire bar declined on lower demand from consumer industries.

Nickel and copper utensils scrap both rose by Rs 5 per kg to Rs 1,240 and Rs 408, respectively from overnight closing level of Rs 1,235 and Rs 408.

Brass utensils scrap moved up by Rs 3 per kilo to Rs 301 as against Rs 298 previously.  

Copper armiture and copper sheet cutting both inched up by Re 1 per kg each to Rs 435 and Rs 428, respectively. However, tin fell by Rs 5 per kilo to Rs 1,410 from Monday's closing level of Rs 1,415.
