The NSE Nifty is down 61 points at 5,075.
ITC has slumped 4.4% to Rs 217.
Satyam has plunged nearly 4% to Rs 471. TCS and Infosys have dropped around 3.5% each to Rs 934 and Rs 1,777, respectively. Wipro has shed 2.5% at Rs 487.
Jaiprakash Associates and ICICI Bank have tumbled nearly 3% each to Rs 267 and Rs 893, respectively.

Larsen & Toubro and Reliance Energy have dropped 2.5% each to Rs 2,910 and Rs 1,402, respectively.
HDFC Bank and Tata Motors have slipped over 2% each to Rs 1,510 and Rs 665, respectively.
Bharti Airtel, Reliance Communications and ACC are up over 1% each at Rs 825, Rs 547 and Rs 745, respectively.
The market breadth is fairly negative - out of 2,453 stocks traded so far, 1,607 have declined and 796 have advanced.
