Sensex flat; IT stocks move up

The Sensex is now almost flat - 15,210 - two points. The BSE IT index is up over 1% at 3,811.

Among the frontline technology stocks - Satyam and Infosys have gained 1.3% each at Rs 408 and Rs 1,625, respectively.

Others like - Aptech, Financial Technologies, i-flex, Moser Baer, NIIT, Rolta and Tech Mahindra are up 1-4% each.

Among other Sensex stocks - Sterlite has surged 2.7% to Rs 613. SBI, Reliance and Tata Steel are up 1% each at Rs 1,575, Rs 2,367 and Rs 614, respectively.

INDEX LOSERS

HDFC Bank has dropped 2.5% to Rs 1,232, and ICICI Bank has shed 2.2% at Rs 722.

Hindalco has dropped 1.5% to Rs 140. DLF is down over 1% at Rs 561.
