Sensex up 49pts in early trades

The Sensex opened with a positive gap of 64 points at 16,805. The index slipped to a low of 16,764 and is now up 49 points at 16,791.

The Nifty is up 18 points at 4,994.

Hero Honda has added 2% to Rs 1,712. Reliance and Hindalco have moved up 1% each to Rs 2,126 and Rs 139, respectively.

Meanwhile, Bharti Airtel has slipped marginally to Rs 439 - down 1%.

All other stocks in the Sensex are trading at a flat note.
