Tata Motors DVR, Finolex Cables, GIC Housing, Supreme Ind hit 52-week high

Tata Motors DVR (differentiated voting rights), Finolex Cables, GIC Housing Finance, Supreme Industries, Yes Bank, Advanta, Biocon, GHCL and D B Corp are among the 20 stocks from the BSE500 index that hit their respective 52-week highs on the Bombay Stock Exchange (BSE) in intra-day trade on Tuesday.

ACC, Cholamandalam Investment and Finance Company , Gruh Finance, Havells India, JSW Steel, KPR Mill, KPIT Technologies, L&T Finance Holdings, Mahindra & Mahindra Financial Services, MphasiS and SKS Microfinance are among others from the index touching their 52-week highs.

Tata Motors DVR surged 13% to Rs 317 on the BSE in intra-day trade after Tata Motors reported a better-than-expected earnings for the quarter ended March 2016 (Q4FY16). The stock finally settled at Rs 312, 11% higher on the BSE.

Analyst at Prabhudas Lilladher believes that the outlook for Jaguar Land Rover (JLR) in China has improved from Q3 onwards, while other geographies like North America and UK are also reporting healthier growth in retails. This coupled with a striking product pipeline and good acceptance of new launches, should augur well for JLR in FY17 and beyond.

Finolex Cables hit high of Rs 359, rallied 23% in past four trading sessions from Rs 291 on May 25, after the company reported a robust 77% year on year (YoY) growth in net profit at Rs 83 crore, on back of strong operational performance.

Meanwhile, out of BSE500 stocks 63 stocks outperformed the market by gaining more than 10% during the month of May compared to 4% rise in the S&P BSE Sensex and 3.4% gain in S&P BSE500 index.

Indiabulls Real Estate, the major gainer among the pack, zoomed 51% during the month after the foreign investor bought stake in the company via open market.

On April 28, 2016 Tree Line Asia Master Fdsingpte L bought 6.4 million shares of Indiabulls Real Estate at Rs 63.38 per share on the NSE. Also, UBS A/C Swiss Finance Corporation (Mauritius) Limited bought 5 million shares of the company at Rs 62.32 per share on the NSE, the bulk deal data shows.

Claris Lifesciences  surged 43% from Rs 152 to Rs 218 during the month. In past two trading sessions, it rallied 30% after the company on Monday, announced that it has received the establishment inspection report (EIR) for its manufacturing facility in Gujarat.

The US FDA had concluded audit at Claris manufacturing facility in May 2015, the company had taken appropriate steps to address the observations it had received from these audits. Having received the EIR from the US FDA potentially clears the path for the company to receive product approvals (ANDA) for the USA.

Sharda Cropchem, Manappuram Finance, V-Guard Industries, GHCL, Take Solutions, Yamini Investments Company, Monsanto India and Shriram Transport Finance Company rallied between 25%-35% during the month.
