Researchers have recently discovered mummified remains of 200 year old Buddhist monk in lotus position in Mongolia.
According to Mongolia's Morning Newspaper, the mummified body, found on 27 January 2015 in Songinokhairkhan province, sits in a lotus position, as if still meditating, the Siberian Times reported.
The report further added that so far there was no information as to where the body was found. The only details were that it was covered with a cattle skin.
It was not clear if it was the skin of a cow, horse, or camel. The mummy was delivered to Ulaanbataar National Centre of Forensic Expertise.
Initial speculation was that the mummy could be a teacher of famous Lama Dashi-Dorzho Itigilov.
