A Navi Mumbai Municipal Transport (NMMT) bus collided with an empty local train near Sanpada crossing on Saturday, due to which three passengers sustained injuries. The injured passengers were taken to the hospital and attended to by the senior officials and doctors from the Central Railway.
The bus driver was attempting to cross the track at an unauthorised crossing between Sanpada car shed and Juinagar at around 3 pm today when it collided with an empty rake.
An official statement released by the Central Railways read, "The road has been built by the City and Industrial Development Corporation (CIDCO) without the approval of Railways. Railway has been insisting Navi Mumbai Municipal Corporation (NMMC) and CIDCO to construct Rail Over Bridge (ROB) from past many years."
Furthermore, an officer-level inquiry has been ordered into the incident.
