67 cyclists, 14 countries, one message - environmental conservation

The 12th mountain cycling annual event organised by the Himalayan Adventure Sports and Tourism Promotion Association (HASATPA) began here on Saturday.

Sixty-seven cyclists from 14 different countries, including India are taking part in this event to send a message on environment protection and tourism.

HASATPA are organizing this cycling championship for the past twelve years.

Various countries like U.K., Canada, Portugal, Newzealand, Bangladesh, Spain, Austria ,South Africa ,Germany, Australia, Italy, Switzerland are participating in this event.

The participants would be riding the cycles in hilly terrains of Shimla and would cover the distance of 650 kilometers in the Himalayan region.

The organizers believe that this cycling event will promote cycling in the region and also enhance environmental conservation. Locals are pleased to be a part of cycling event.
