Ceasefire violation: Everything will be fine soon, assures PM Modi

With shelling and firing by Pakistani troops continuing to claim civilian lives in Jammu and Kashmir, Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Wednesday said that everything will be fine soon.

"Everything will be fine soon," Prime Minister Modi told the media at Air Chief Marshal Arup Raha's 'At Home' programme on the occasion of the 82nd Indian Air Force Day.

Prime Minister Modi's comment came after Army Chief General Dalbir Singh Suhag apprised him of the situation at the Line of Control.

Earlier today, a high-level meeting was held in the Ministry of Home Affairs (MHA) and was attended by the Home Secretary, senior officials of Border Security Forces and Border Roads Organization.

Minister of State for Home Kiren Rijiju today rejected the notion of holding of a flag meeting between the two sides, stating the ceasefire violations by Pakistan and the appropriate retaliations by India as reasons.

In yet another incident of ceasefire violation by Pakistan, mortar shells were recovered today from villages along the border in Hiranagar town of Jammu and Kashmir's Kathua district.

A woman was killed while twenty others including three BSF personnel were injured as Pakistani forces resorted to mortar shelling and firing along the entire International Border and the Line of Control in Jammu.

Meanwhile, India has decided to put on hold the proposal for a flag meeting at the Commander-level along the border in Jammu and Kashmir.
