'Dangerous' Pakistan can demolish any opposition, admits Badree

Describing Pakistan as a 'very dangerous team', West Indies leg-spinner Samuel Badree has insisted his side are wary of the challenge that the Sarfraz Ahmed-led team could pose in the three-match Twenty20 series, starting on Friday in Dubai.

The 35-year-old believes the home side have an ability to demolish any opposition in the shorter formats of the game.

"On their day, they can demolish any opposition, and we are wary of that challenge. We respect every opposition that we come up against, and we are going to do the same against Pakistan. We are going to prepare well, knowing that Pakistan are a very, very dangerous team," Badree was quoted as saying by ESPNcricinfo.

While observing that Pakistan are very similar to the West Indies in terms of consistency, the leg-spinner predicted that the former side would surely turn out to be brilliant one day.

The Caribbean side, however, will be without the services of swashbuckling opener Chris Gayle and all-rounder Andre Russell, who were replaced by left-hand batsman Evin Lewis and fast-bowler Kesrick Williams respectively.

Despite the absence of some key players, Badree said that that his side are looking forward to win the series and maintain their top spot in rankings.

"It's a different team from the team that won the World T20.We have a lot of new guys, a few players who are making their debuts on this tour. A number of our guys have been here before - the likes of [Sunil] Narine, [Dwayne] Bravo, [Kieron] Pollard. So we are looking forward to some very good games of cricket and, of course, we'd like to win the series and remain as one of the best T20 teams in the world," insisted Badree.

West Indies will begin their tour to United Arab Emirates (UAE) with a warm-up match against Emirates Cricket Board XI on September 20 before heading to the T20 series.
