The death toll in the bus in Himachal Pradesh's Kinnaur district today rose to 23, with 16 injured.
The accident occurred earlier today in Sangla, a tribal district of Kinnaur, where the bus fell into a gorge. The private bus was carrying 39 passengers when it rolled down to the Baspa River at Ruturang in Kupa village, 3 kilometers from Sangla.
16 people died on spot while seven died while being transported to the local hospitals.
Out of the 17 injured 11 are being airlifted by helicopter to Indira Gandhi Medical College (IGMC), Shimla, and others are being treated in the hospitals at Sangla and Reckong Peo district.
