The capital is likely to be relieved from heat wave until June 18, according to the MET department.
"It has been very hot in the north India over past three days. Today there was a thunderstorm and the main cause is because of the air coming from Arabian Sea. The humidity got accumulated," said Director of MET department, M Duraisamy.
"There are chances of thunderstorms from 15th to 18th, and there will be rainfall on the 17th and 18th of this month. There will be a relief from the heat wave for few days," he added.
Earlier today, Delhi witnessed a sudden change in the weather after heavy rains hit parts of the city.
The monsoon though, is expected to reach Delhi by June 29, according to the India Meteorological Department (IMD).
