Mercedes star Lewis Hamilton was reportedly mocked by his fans on Twitter after putting up a picture of his dog having acupuncture treatment.

According to the Daily Star, the 2008 F1 champion, who had split from X Factor judge and former Pussycat Doll Nicole Scherzinger last month, tweeted a picture of his pampered bulldog Roscoe with needles in his back and leg.

Expecting his fans to be impressed, Hamilton said that he had decided on the course of treatment because his dog was looking unwell.

However, Hamilton's followers mocked him with a barrage of insults, with one of them asking him whether he has a pound-sign tattooed on his forehead that he got his dog acupunctured.

Another fan slammed Hamilton, saying that although he used to think that Hamilton was cool before, he is not so sure about that now.

However, Hamilton eventually cracked and hit back at the tweeters, and on being asked whether he had performed the procedure himself, Hamilton said that 'how should he know how to do acupuncture'.
