Indians in Vancouver overwhelmed over PM Modi's visit to Laxmi Narayan Temple

Indians in Vancouver on Thursday expressed their delight over Prime Minister Narendra Modi's upcoming visit to the Laxmi Narayan Temple.

"We will welcome Prime Minister Modi with the swasti mantra," said the priest of Laxmi Narayan Temple, Mansukh Lal.

Meanwhile, president of the Vedic Indian Hindu Society cultural society, Puroshottum Goel, said that the number of people who would be coming to see the Prime Minister has exceeded way beyond expectations.

"After 42 years, an Indian Prime Minister is visiting Canada. Because of security restraints, we have limited up to three thousand people. If we had a choice, we would have involved over 20,000 people, but unfortunately that cannot be done in an open space. We have got reservation numbers exceeding way more than we expected it to," said Goel.

"Every Indian, irrespective of race or religion loves him, and they would like to see how our country is performing and under what leadership the country is performing. They are very satisfied and overwhelmed to know that the country is going in the right direction and that it is in the right hands. We are looking forward to welcoming him in the temple. The whole communities in Gurudwara as well as in the temple are excited," he added.

Another Indian hailing from Gujarat, Kunal Patel said that the entire Indian community is looking forward to meet the Prime Minister and share his vision about India.

"We are really fortunate to have our Indian Prime Minister, son of Gujarat, Mr. Narendra Modi visiting us, so the entire community is looking forward to meet him and share his thought and vision that he has about India," said Patel.

"I am very excited to welcome him. He is a great inspiration for many millions of Indians. He has done a wonderful job in the last ten months as well as in Gujarat. We are very excited to welcome the emerging world leader," added another Indian, Anur Bansal.

Prime Minister Modi's trip to Canada is the first bilateral visit by an Indian Prime Minister in 42 years. He is also scheduled to visit the Gurudwara Khalsa Diwan following his visit to the temple.
