Ireland has earned a six-wicket win over World Twenty20 champions West Indies at Sabina Park, Jamaica on Wednesday in a T20 clash between the two teams.
Ireland will again play against West Indies, which will defend their World T20 title in Bangladesh next month, on Friday at the same venue before a one-off ODI on Sunday that precedes England's limited-overs tour of the West Indies.
According to the BBC, West Indies scored 116-8 off their 20 overs with Chris Gayle top-scoring with 18 while Irish bowlers Alex Cusack, Kevin O'Brien and Tim Murtagh took two wickets apiece.
Although Ireland lost William Porterfield for four in the first over of their innings, followed by Paul Stirling in the second over, Ed Joyce and Andrew Poynter Poynter revived the Ireland innings, aided by Gary Wilson and O'Brien.
Ireland's victory came at the same ground where they beat Pakistan in the 2007 World Cup, the report added.
