Former Samajwadi Party leader Kamal Farooqui on Thursday strongly condemned the extremist group Islamic State (IS), accusing it of misleading the Muslim youth.
"The IS is trying to mislead Muslims. We will request Muslim youth to not get into the trap. If you want to be a good Muslim then work on and for Islam in India and serve the country well," he told ANI here.
Farooqui also criticized protests by Hindu groups over the holding of an exhibition on Pakistan.
"People protesting against Pakistani exhibition do not know anything about diplomacy. Our Foreign Minister has made an encouraging statement of continuing dialogues with Pakistan. These people, who are protesting, are just trying to disturb the country," he said.
Farooqui also lashed out at the members of the United Kingdom's Parliament for discussing the 'human rights' situation in Jammu and Kashmir.
"Discussion on Kashmir in the UK Parliament is interfering in the internal matters of India," he said.
Some UK MPs led by David Ward have reportedly planned to hold a debate today on 'political and humanitarian situation in Kashmir'.
The scheduled debate will not take place in the main chamber of the House of Commons but in a committee room in Britain's Houses of Parliament.
