Commenting on Prime Minister Narendra Modi's maiden radio address to the country, social activist Kiran Bedi said here on Friday that the Prime Minister was uniting and awakening the whole country.

"What I see the Prime Minister doing is that he is bringing trust back into leadership. He is bringing the Indianness back into India. He is uniting the country, he is awakening the whole nation. What I noticed is that Prime Minister is trying to bring back positivity from negativity and converting cynicism to hope," said the former IPS officer.

Meanwhile, BJP spokesperson Sambit Patra said, "Today, the Prime Minister as a guardian of the country has addressed the country through the medium of radio, reaching almost 90 percent of the people, which is phenomenal."

Congress leader Rashid Alvi, however pointed out, "Ever since he has become the Prime Minister, he has shared the thoughts in his heart. Now, I think there is no work to be done for the country except giving speeches."

In his maiden address to the nation on Friday through the medium of radio, Prime Minister Narendra Modi urged people to adopt khadi products and pay special attention to cleanliness.
