Madhya Pradesh Chief Minister Shivraj Singh Chauhan met Prime Minister Narendra Modi at the latter's official 7, Race Course Road (RCR) residence here and briefed him about the NITI Aayog's sub group that he heads.

"The most important discussion was about the NITI Aayog's sub group, of which I am the convener. Its work is almost completed. Till today, all the talks have been done with chief ministers," Chauhan told the media here.

"A consensus has been made and we have sent the draft and most probably the acceptance is likely to come by today. We also discussed about the date on which the report has to be sent," he added.

Today's meeting assumes significance as the BJP-led NDA Government is making all attempts to ensure that the deadlock in the Parliament over the Vyapam scam in Madhya Pradesh and the controversy surrounding former IPL boss Lalit Modi comes to an end.

The opposition parties have been demanding the removal of the Madhya Pradesh Chief Minister over the Vyapam scam. The government has, however, so far backed Chouhan and ruled out his resignation.

The CBI registered the 18th FIR in Vyapam scam yesterday. It has been registered in connection with alleged illegalities in the Police Constable Recruitment Examination conducted by Vyapam in 2013.
