The Samajwadi Party (SP) is celebrating the 25th anniversary of its founding in Lucknow on Saturday, but what grabbed everyone's attention was Chief Minister Akhilesh Yadav sharing the same dais with his political nemesis and uncle Shivpal Yadav suggesting a thaw in hostilities between the two.

What's more, Rashtriya Janata Dal (RJD) chief and 'Samdhi' of Samajwadi Party patron Mulayam Singh Yadav, Lalu Yadav raising both Akhilesh and Shivpal's hands, indicating both are winners and that they no longer have differences.

Akhilesh went to the extent of touching the feet of Shivpal Yadav.

Speaking at the function, Shivpal Yadav said he is ready to sacrifice his blood to fulfill 'Netaji' Mulayam's demand.

"I have never been made CM, but I know, despite the insults I have faced, I have done good work. I fulfilled all my work during my stint as PWD minister," he said

The event is being seen as yet another show of strength by the SP's first family, barely 48 hours after Akhilesh Yadav launched his 'Vikas se Vijay Rath Yatra'.

Akhilesh and Shivpal Yadav have already asked their supporters to mobilise support for the silver jubilee function.
