Sri Lanka fast bowler Thisara Perera ripped apart Pakistan's batting line up as the hosts thrashed the tourists by seven wickets in the third and final ODI, to win the three-match series 2-1.
Pakistan were bowled out for a meagre total of 102 runs in just 32 overs, with only three of their batsmen managing to get double digits.
Thisara displayed an exceptional performance delivering match figures of 4 for 34 and was helped by paceman Dhammika Prasad, who claimed two wickets. Sri Lankan pace express Lasith Malinga, ace spinner Rangana Herath and leg break bowler Seekkuge Prasanna claimed one wicket each.
Opener Sharjeel Khan was the first wicket to fall that started Sri Lanka's ripping of Pakistan. He was keen to get forward early in the game to try and hit big, instead he lost his wicket to second slip Mahela Jayawardene off Prasad's delivery for a duck.
The second wicket to fall was opener Ahmed Shehzad, who managed to score 10 runs before dragging a good length delivery from Prasad into the hands of mid-on Perera.
Mohammad Hafeez was the next wicket to fall, as he was trapped lbw by Malinga on his individual score of one. Skipper Misbah-ul-Haq followed suit as he fell short of the pitch length and was run out by Tillakaratne Dilshan. Misbah had managed to add 18 runs to Pakistan's score.
Wicketkeeper batsman Umar Akmal was next to fall on his individual score of seven as he Malinga caught him off Perera's delivery. Next to go was Sohaib Maqsood caught behind the wicket by Kumar Sangakkara off Perera's delivery again. Maqsood also managed to hit seven runs before departing from the field.
Pakistani ace all-rounder Shahid Afridi also could not contribute much to his side's slow run rate as he went out for just two runs. He was caught by Perera off Prasanna's delivery.
Wahab Riaz and Saeed Ajmal also lost their wickets to Perera's delivery. Riaz was caught for a duck behind the wicket by former Sri Lanka captain Sangakkara, while Ajmal was caught by another former skipper Jayawardene on his individual score of six.
Mohammad Irfan concluded Pakistan's batting line up. He was bowled out for just five by ace spinner Herath. Fawad Alam remained unbeaten on his individual score of 38.
Sri Lanka lost three wickets while chasing Pakistan's easy target. Opener Upul Tharanga hit 14 runs before he lost his wicket to an express delivery from fast bowler Irfan.
Former skippers Sangakkara and Jayawardene went out for their individual scores of two and 26 respectively. Sangakkara lost his wicket to pacer Wahab Riaz's delivery as he was caught by Hafeez at second slip, while Jayawardene tapped a doosra from spinner Ajmal to first slip Hafeez.
Sri Lanka skipper Angelo Mathews and opener Tilakaratne Dilshan remained unbeaten on their individual score of zero and 50.
Sri Lanka easily reached the target score in just 18 overs and two extra deliveries.
