Congress leader Mallikarjun Kharge on Friday expressed his sadness on the demise of former Bihar chief minister and Janata Dal (United) leader Ram Sundar Das.
Das had passed away in the early hours of the day.
"He was a very good orator. He always worked in favour of the weaker sections of society. He was a very good, sensible worker. I feel that a person who has contributed a lot to Dalits has passed away," Kharge said.
Das was admitted to the Patna Medical College and Hospital due to age-related problems.
Das is survived by two sons and one daughter.
The Bihar Government has announced two days of state mourning.
