Asserting that the people of Maharashtra have not given a clear majority to anyone, Shiv Sena leader Anil Desai on Sunday said if the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) makes an offer of reconciliation then his party will consider it.
"The people of Maharashtra have not given a clear majority to anyone, but they have definitely rejected the Congress and NCP's rule. Since nobody has a clear majority and the BJP and Shiv Sena are at number one and number two respectively, so if there is proposal from BJP's side to Uddhav Thackeray we will consider it. Udhhavji's decision will be final over this matter," he told ANI here.
Desai further said the Shiv Sena wants a united and undivided Maharashtra.
"Shiv Sena wants a united and undivided Maharashtra, so we will go ahead keeping that and the people's benefit in mind. If there is a proposal from BJP, we will consider it," he added.
Trends show that BJP is leading in 118 seats in Maharashtra and may require an ally to form the government.
BJP's Kirit Somaiya earlier today said that after the final tally, his party will think about those parties which show their belief in BJP's manifesto and Modi's vision.
Meanwhile, RSS ideologue MG Vaidya called on the BJP and Shiv Sena to come together and form the government.
