Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Monday urged the Union Cabinet to accord special focus to the North-East region of the country and explored methods as to how the region could be integrated with the rest of India.
"Prime Minister Modi said that special focus needs to be paid to the North-East states and explored methods as to how we can integrate the North-East states with the rest of the country," Minister of State (Independent Charge) for Skill Development and Entrepreneurship Rajiv Pratap Rudy told the media.
"The Prime Minister further stated that ministers must visit the region and should spend a reasonable amount of time there. The North-East must figure as a priority in each and every ministry," he added.
Rudy further stated that in the Cabinet meeting, Prime Minister Modi stressed on the importance of e-books to provide transparency in the working of the government
"The Prime Minister stressed that e-books should become a medium of communication from the ministry to the people and should go on to various social media platforms to be accessed and that such e-books that would appeal to the larger appetite of the people of this country, as far as the working of the Government of India is concerned, should be given a special significance as some of the ministries have created e-books," he said.
"The Prime Minister gave a blueprint of how the e-books should be created so that it serves a larger interest and establishes transparency as far as the working of the government is concerned," he added.
According to Rudy, Prime Minister also called for innovative ideas that could be implemented in the Union Budget.
"The Prime Minister in the Cabinet meeting further stated that innovative and out-of-the-box ideas need to be inculcated in departments for the Union Budget. Ministries should endeavour that expenditure is spread uniformly during the year," he stated.
