"Obviously losing Dale, the best bowler in the world, and Vernon, arguably the best all-rounder in the world, certainly changes the dynamics of the side," Test captain Hashim Amla told reporters on the eve of second Test.
Earlier on Thursday, fast bowler Vernon Philander was ruled of the rest of the series with an ankle injury.
South Africa are trailing 1-0 in the four-match series after suffering a 108-run defeats at the hands of the hosts in the first Test in Mohali.
