Tite has been named as Brazil's new football coach, replacing Dunga who was sacked from the position following the national team's embarrassing exit from the Copa America.

Confirming the news, Corinthians president Roberto de Andrade said that Tite was no longer working with the Brazilian football club, while adding that the 55-year-old had accepted the Brazilian Football Confederation's invitation, Sport24 reported.

Although the CBF has not confirmed the appointment, officials have held a meeting with Tite, according to reports.

However, the CBF stated that current under-20s coach Micale will be given the task of guiding a lackluster Brazil team in the forthcoming Rio Olympics.

Tite, who is known for turning things around, led Corinthians to two Brazilian league titles in 2011 and 2015 in addition to guiding them to the Copa Sudamericana in 2013.

Dunga was appointed as Brazil manager after the South American giant suffered a 7-1 loss to Germany in the 2014 World Cup semifinal.
