New Zealand fast bowler Trent Boult has revealed that he used to love watching his idol Wasim Akram exploit pitches to deliver the near-perfect reverse swing yorkers during his peak.
The 25-year-old said that Akram has been someone he looked up to throughout his whole career and grew up watching as a kid.
Boult, who has become one of the mainstays of the New Zealand pace attack, further said that he used to love watching Akram come round the wicket; reverse swing the ball and see the stumps flying out of the ground, PakPassion reported.
The left-arm pace bowler believes that it was a cool learning curve and great opportunity to meet and talk with him about bowling during the recently concluded Indian Premier League season.
Boult, who has scalped 123 Test wickets in 32 matches, has the ability to bowl consistently at a brisk pace and also able to move the ball both ways.
