The US Soccer Federation has reportedly invited the national soccer team of Iran to play a friendly match slated to be held in America during the last week of April 2014, if conditions for the match are upheld.
The United States and Iran have both qualified for the 2014 FIFA World Cup, and the slated match would be the third played between the two countries, with Iran defeating US 2-1 at the 1998 World Cup and playing a 1-1 draw with US in 2000.
According to The Jerusalem Post, Iran's soccer federation head Ali Kaffashian has confirmed the proposal of the match, stating that the two sides still had to configure some details before the game could become a reality on the field.
Kaffashian further said that four countries -Iran, US, a European country and a South American country - would participate in the event comprising of a series of friendlies.
