All FCI depot will have online operations by next March- Shri Ram Vilas Paswan

The Government has taken important initiative to implement depot online system across all food storage depots of FCI in the country. All the depots will have all their operation online by March 2016. This was stated by Shri Ram Vilas Paswan, Minister of Consumer Affairs, Food & Public Distribution while releasing logo and tag line capturing the essence of this prestigious initiative on the eve of launch of Digital India Week.

Shri Paswan said that depot online project is a part of overall vision of Government of India to transform the food distribution supply chain in the country. It would facilitate process automation, standardization and efficiency of the management of foodgrain distribution and would enable real time monitoring of operations and timely data reporting.
