Turnover jumps
Nifty January 2015 futures were at 8468, a premium of 72.55 points over spot closing of 8395.45. Turnover on NSE's futures & options (F&O) segment surged to Rs 165984.72 crore from Rs 58534.50 crore on Thursday, 1 January 2015.
LIC Housing Finance January 2015 futures were at 470, at a premium over spot closing of 467.60.
State Bank of India January 2015 futures were at 318.30, at a premium over spot closing of 315.60.
ICICI Bank January 2015 futures were at 366, at a premium over spot closing of 363.
In the spot market, the 50-unit CNX Nifty rose 111.45 points or 1.35% to settle at 8,395.45, its highest closing level since 8 December 2014.
The January 2015 derivatives contract expire on 29 January 2015.
