Turnover surges
Nifty January 2015 futures were at 8,150.30, a premium of 22.95 points over spot closing of 8,127.35. Turnover on NSE's futures & options (F&O) segment surged to Rs 291940.44 crore from Rs 153785.65 crore on Monday, 5 January 2015.
State Bank of India January 2015 futures were at 301.10, at a premium over spot closing of 299.90.
ICICI Bank January 2015 futures were at 348.80, at a premium over spot closing of 346.40.
Larsen & Toubro January 2015 futures were at 1,503, at a premium over spot closing of 1,498.
In the spot market, the 50-unit CNX Nifty slumped 251.05 points or 3% to settle at 8,127.35, its lowest closing level since 17 December 2014.
The January 2015 derivatives contract expire on 29 January 2015.
