Turnover jumps
Nifty May 2014 futures were at 6740.80, at a premium of 44.40 points over spot closing of 6696.40. Turnover on NSE's futures & options (F&O) segment surged to Rs 106293.58 crore from Rs 73455.28 crore on Tuesday, 29 April 2014.
State Bank of India May 2014 futures were at 2079.40, at a discount compared to spot closing of 2080.
ICICI Bank May 2014 futures were at 1256.25, at a premium over spot closing of 1250.
Axis Bank May 2014 futures were at 1529.45, at a premium over spot closing of 1520.10.
In the spot market, the 50-unit CNX Nifty lost 18.85 points or 0.28% to settle at 6,696.40, its lowest closing level since 16 April 2014.
The May 2014 derivatives contracts expire on 29 May 2014.
