Turnover on NSE's F&O segment jumps
The May 2016 futures on the Nifty 50 index traded at 7,869.50, a premium of 20.65 points compared with Nifty's closing of 7,848.85 in the cash market. Turnover on the National Stock Exchange's (NSE) futures and options (F&O) totaled Rs 2.91 lakh crore, higher than turnover of Rs 1.87 crore registered during the previous trading session.
In the cash market, the Nifty lost 38.95 points or 0.49% to settle at 7,848.85, its lowest closing level since 6 May 2016.
Axis Bank, Zee Entertainment Enterprises, Yes Bank, Tata Motors and ICICI Bank were the top traded individual stock futures contracts on the futures & options (F&O) segment of NSE. Axis Bank May 2016 futures traded at 498.90, at a premium compared with spot closing of 497.85. Zee Entertainment Enterprises May 2016 futures traded at 448.75, near spot closing of 448. Yes Bank May 2016 futures traded at 958.85, at a premium compared with spot closing of 956.50.
Tata Motors May 2016 futures traded at 381.90, at a premium compared with spot closing of 380. ICICI Bank May 2016 futures traded at 224.65, near spot spot closing of 224.10.
The May 2016 F&O contracts are set to expire on 26 May 2016.
