F&O turnover drops
The September 2016 futures on the Nifty 50 index traded at 8,830.50, at a premium of 22.10 points compared with Nifty's closing of 8,808.40 in the cash market. The Nifty October 2016 futures traded at 8,868, a premium of 59.60 points compared with the spot closing for the index. Turnover on the National Stock Exchange's futures & options (F&O) segment declined to Rs 2.31 lakh crore from turnover of Rs 4.33 lakh crore registered on Friday, 16 September 2016.
In the cash market, the Nifty rose 28.55 points or 0.33% to settle at 8,808.40, its highest closing level since 9 September 2016.
Yes Bank, Reliance Capital, Reliance Infrastructure, Tata Steel and State Bank of India (SBI) were the top traded individual stock futures contracts in F&O segment of NSE. Yes Bank September 2016 futures traded at 1,184.55, at a premium compared with spot closing of 1,179.95. Reliance Capital September 2016 futures traded at 571.70, at a premium over spot closing of 570. Reliance Infrastructure September 2016 futures traded at 596, at a premium over spot closing of 593.70.
Tata Steel September 2016 futures traded at 362.90, at a premium compared with spot closing of 361.35. SBI September 2016 futures traded at 256.65, at a premium over spot closing of 255.50.
The September 2016 F&O contracts are set to expire on 29 September 2016. The October 2016 F&O contracts are set to expire on 27 October 2016.
