A court here on Monday granted bail to one of the accused allegedly involved in firing on Delhi Police officials here.
Additional Sessions Judge Reetesh Singh granted bail to Mohammad Rashid Khan and asked him to furnish a personal bond of Rs.50,000 and a surety of like amount.
Rashid Khan was arrested by Special Cell of Delhi Police from west Delhi's Mundka area with an alleged gangster Neeraj Bawana on April 7 after a brief chase when both of them tried to escape by opening fire at the police team.
Advocate M.S. Khan, appearing for accused Rashid Khan, told the court his client would not tamper with evidences in the case.
Claiming innocence, counsel said his client was falsely implicated and no purpose would be served further by keeping him in custody.
Neeraj Bawana, the other accused, was wanted in many cases of murder, extortion, attempt to murder and other cases and figured in the list of the capital's 10 most wanted criminals compiled by Delhi Police.
