Actress Sandeepa Dhar wants to reconnect with Lindy hop, and hopes to do it through a dance number in her forthcoming film "Firrkie".
Sandeepa, who has featured in "Isi Life Mein", "Dabangg 2" and "Heropanti", will play a model in "Firrkie", which also stars Neil Nitin Mukesh, Karan Singh Grover, Kay Kay Menon and Jackie Shroff.
"I love dancing, but I haven't really got the opportunity to showcase my dancing skills in the movies I've done so far," Sandeepa said in a statement.
"Lindy hop is one of the most beautiful forms of creative look. It is a hip-hop tradition. It is part of my childhood and who I am. I want to reconnect with it," she added.
Sandeepa is a qualified Lindy hop dancer. She started learning the dance form at the age of 10. But didn't get time to practice it after entering showbiz.

Shraddha Kapoor amazed at digital platform's reach
Actress Shraddha Kapoor is in love with all the digital platforms for making it easy for her to connect with fans.
The actress also praised social media app musical.ly, which is used for creating and sharing videos.
"Not so long ago, celebrities could only engage with their fans if a fan won a competition, or they sneaked past the burly security guards but musical.ly bridged that gap, allowing us to connect with our fans directly," Shraddha said in a statement.
On the film front, she is busy with "Batti Gul Meter Chalu". The social comedy-drama also stars Shahid Kapoor and Yami Gautam.

Randeep, Alia looks back at 'Highway' memories
As "Highway" clocked four years of its existence on Wednesday, actors Alia Bhatt and Randeep Hooda walked down memory lane, and said that the film changed the way they look at life.
The Imtiaz Ali directorial is about a girl who develops a Stockholm syndrome after being abducted.
"A film that changed my life. Will always always be so grateful for all the love the film got. Thank you Imtiaz Ali, Randeep Hooda," Alia tweeted on Wednesday.
Randeep was philosophical with his post as he wrote "this picture for me embodies the essence of the souls that lived on together forever".
"The haves and have nots are equals under the sun even if only in the shadows cast by its kisses," he added.
