After spells of rain Thursday morning, Delhi experienced a sunny day with the maximum temperature recorded at 38 degrees Celsius, a notch above the season's average. Friday will be partly cloudy with light rain and thunderstorms in many parts of the city.
"The skies will be partly cloudy throughout the day. Some areas could light rain and thunderstorms," said an official of the India Meteorological Department (IMD).
The maximum and the minimum temperature are likely to hover around 40 degrees and 25 degrees Celsius respectively.
The minimum temperature Thursday settled at 23.5 degrees Celsius, five notches below the season's average.
The minimum temperature Wednesday was recorded three notches below the the season's average at 25.3 degrees Celsius, while the maximum temperature was recorded two notches above the average at 39 degrees Celsius.
