BJP leader Jaswant Singh’s latest clean chit to Mohammed Ali Jinnah is nothing but part of an elaborate plan to re-brand the party, to make it acceptable to Muslims across the country. What Singh does not realise, just as L K Advani did not either, is that neither the party nor the citizens of the country will accept this. The two of them will be like the proverbial washerman’s dog, belonging to neither the home nor the washerman’s ghats. If the Congress now calls the BJP the Bharatiya Jinnah Party, it is for a very good reason.
