Letters: Brand India

It is very good to see how effortlessly Brand India is spreading to other parts of the world. The Tatas have bought iconic brands like Corus, Jaguar and LandRover and now, Bharti Airtel has bought Zain Telecom to venture into Africa. But true success will come only when Indian companies are able to make a success of what they are buying overseas.

At one time, the Japanese seemed to be buying up everything they could see in Hollywood, but that came a cropper. Hopefully, Indian firms are doing better due diligence.
