The police firing on a rally of Forward Bloc supporters at Dinhata on February 5, 2008, resulting in the death of five party supporters a NVF member, had triggered a political storm in the state.
"The report which was submitted to then chief minister Buddhadeb Bhattacherjee was missing and has been traced. Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee has asked Law minister Malay Ghatak to submit it in the House," the sources said.
After the firing, FB leaders had written to then chief minister Buddhadeb Bhattacharjee and Left Front chairman Biman Bose demanding a judicial probe.
Bhattacherjee had set up one-man judicial enquiry commission headed by Justice (retd) Narayan Chandra Sil of the Calcutta High Court.
The commission had probed the incident for three years before submitting its report to the state government. The file had gone missing from the chief minister's office.
