50 houses gutted in fire in Malda

As many as 50 houses were gutted in a massive fire at Gobindapur village here, officials said today.
No casualty was reported in the incident which took place yesterday, Block Development Officer (BDO) Biswanath Chakraborty said.
"We have provided relief materials to the victims. The fire brigade could not reach the spot immediately as the area is congested but we got control over it with the help of the locals," Chakraborty said, adding the cause of fire is not yet known.
